Default Help Required Please!!! Rear Diff

I am currently trying to replace the oil in my rear diff on my hawkeye wrx and i cannot budge the filler plug on the diff... does it have any special threads ie left handed or is it a case of keep trying it will eventually come undone?

Also how do you guys fill up the diff as it looks very awkward to get a funnel or even an oil can to it?

Please help

Thanks

If you have a 1/2 inch drive breaker bar use that - it will do the job just fine. Make sure you undo the filler plug before you do the drain one

For refilling I used a turkey baster but this was messy and time consuming. I would recommend getting the largest syringe you can lay your hands on, it will make the job a doddle then

re youtube slip, is it the one where the car drops onto the breaker bar? if not, thats also worth a watch for humour only

make sure you undo the filler, before you undo the drain

been there and done that!!!!

whoops didn't read all the posts, looks like petethemeat has been there too

a very good way is to use the pressurised brake fluid bleeder from Halfords only a few quid -- similar to below

but fill the bottle with Diff oil
