Default Type R diff help need info asap!

I have a V3 STi Type R, dccd box.

I currently have the car at a friends garage as we are changing the diff's over, however I brought an R180 diff yesterday to fit this evening. On removal on the old I noticed the spline fitment is completely different, along with the R180 being a lot smaller than the original.

Now I'm hearing a lot of mixed info on what diff a V3 type r should be running.

The old Diff is a fair bit bigger than the R180 (unless I've been miss sold a wrx/uk spec diff) however, due to the fact I can't get to my car for the gearbox code...is there any other way to tell/find out what my car should be running.

I have both the old and new diff's on me, will there be any coding on those? Spline size off old is thinner than new on the internals. (Center hole is the size of a 1 pence coin) on the R180 the center split is the same diameter as the spline. Also what size rear discs do the R180's run as I know they run larger diameter brake set ups.

Any info would be welcome. Need to source one tomorrow so need to know asap!

May explain a lot if I have been sold an R160 diff (smaller?) rather than an R180 diff. But to confirm if anyone knows if the R180 is the bigger of the two.
