Question

Hello!

I'm no mechanic, but I've bought a Magnex rear pipe for my MY01 and plan on changing it myself. Unfortunately, I don't have access to a ramp, so will have to get a handy mate to hold the car up for me (or just jack it!).

My question is a simple one - Do I only need a bog standard spanner, or is there any other tool required? Also, what size spanner? I'm hoping the bolts shouldn't be too hard to undo since the car's only 2 months old.

TIA

Bryn

Hi Bryn,

I fitted a new magnex exhaust bb the other week on a MY98 and i needed a 14mm spanner for the standard nuts and a screw driver to prise the rubbers of the hangers. It was very easy but i did have it on ramps. I hope this helps you.

Hiya Bryn and Jason!

Ramps are the way to go, here's a tip for you - use washing up liquid on the rubbers, they just slide on, GT85 works well too!
