Question

There was a thread on here weeks ago with details of a supplier of Samco hosing. I think POC posted the details.

Does anyone have the details or the url for the previous post?

I wish that fecking Search function would come back

Stefan

David,

Was that the same company mentioned before and are they original Samco ones?

I think we were quoted something like £27.50 for the Samco Turbo hoses on the old thread.

Also, which one's match a MY99 RB5 ?? The STI one's listed are confusing my poor little brain

Thanks,
Stefan

Thanks guys.

Does anyone know what options are available for a MY99? What hoses are replaced as part of the PPP? Turbo?

Still can't find that damn post :grrrrrrr:

Doesn't the lack of Search get right on your nipple-end at times?

Stefan, only one hose is changed on the PPP, the one from the Turbo to the intercooler (97-98 anyway)

Rub Vaseline on your sore nipple and listen.
I have Samco turbo hose set on my 99my as the std. turbo to intercooler hose (rigid plasticy rubber!!)has a reputation for letting go under raised boost after a fair amount of use.
You get three hoses in the set : Intercooler to inlet manifold, turbo to intercooler and dump valve re-circ. The turbo to intercooler was a bit of a git and you have to "give and take" a bit on the intercooler connections (2) to make the thing fit fully on the turbo.
Unfortunatly our "group buy" guru POC (Paul) has defected to Beemer pose-mobile land! Come back soon Paul and we`ll forgive you!!

Cheers John.

I'll check John Bank's car (MY00 PPP) when I see him tomorrow evening. It's only some nice blue hoses I need to complete my budget PPP upgrade

JohnD,

Already get strange looks when I'm applying liberal amounts of Vaseline What, Paul has hit middle-age already

Just found the old thread by POC http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...D=78792&Page=1

It was Hose Direct so I'll give'em a call tomorrow.

The PPP pipework kit for 99/00 cars is as shown below, with an aluminium Y piece to replace the rigid plastic OEM part.

I'm trying to source the ally Y-pipe; MRT do the STi part for about £100 but hopefully I can get the part more cheaply from a scrappy.

Is there a Samco style hose to go between Turbo and Intake expansion box for a Pre97 (MY93 - MY96) available anywhere ????

It would have to have 2 breather pipe attachements and 1 for the Dump Valve.

Re price of PPP:

I paid £1763 inc VAT

In my head I guess-priced it out as follows (consider dealer prices for things)

Backbox £300
Centre section £100
Intercooler bits £150
Fitting 2 hours £100
ECU £1100

You keep your warranty too, so it is not horrendous for what you get. I wouldn't buy it new again though!

Yeah, when you break it down it doesn't look too bad. Just think, it was £2000 not that long ago

It's just hard to convince yourself of it's value when you see it laid out with two bits of blue tubing, a metal y-shaped thingy and 4 jubilee clips.

It would be nice if they gave you lots more lovely blue Prodrive tubing for the engine bay

Simon,

You can by the Prodrive hoses seperately from Performance Subaru

Don't know what the costs are yet.

Stefan

Sorry, you need to look at the bottom of the Induction page.
