burr/whiney gearbox or diff on type r
Hello everybody.
I got a STI Type R v5 - 99 with 96000km on it.
Yesterday i tried the different settings on DCCD for the first time. And i noticed that when i lift of the throttle/egnine braking the diff/gearbox makes a burring type of sound between 2500-2200rpm. This accrues when the dccd is in any of the modes accept open mode.
Is this normal or is my dccd in bad condition??
I asked some guys here in sweden who has a type r or type ra. One of the guys has a similar sound in his car. We both have Hardrace Engine and Gearboxmounts. And the other two I've asked dosen't have any similar sound in their cars and they don't have the hardrace mounts.
Maybe the mounts makes the sound travel in to the car.
Watch the video below to hear the noise.

Hiya mate,I also have a v5 type R but I don't get that noise when coming off the throttle.
If it's quiet in the open position I would think the noise is from the centre diff itself.I'm still new to scooby's myself so I can't really be of much help.
Hopefully someone else will chime in with info.
Danny.
