Question

I have been having a problem starting my car when it is warm now and again, for example in a garage after I have filled up with petrol and go to start it, it will just keep turning over for about 30 seconds before it starts.

I have just read the ECU code and found out it is the crank sensor.

I am just wondering if any one has had the same kind of problem and if so how much did a new sensor cost ?
Also if fitted by a subaru dealer what kind of labour charges were incurred ?

No idea of cost but you can fit it in a couple of minutes yourself, its only a bolt and a connector.

Gavin,

I had the same frustrasting problem when I'd pull in to get petrol! Getting the car washed was even worse!! You try to pull away to let the next car up & it wont start! I had to leave it for about 20 mins! I got my mechanic to replace it but standing around - it took him a few minutes to replace! It sorted the problems then.

takes seconds to replace.

one 10mm bolt I think holds sensor in place.

look at teh front of the engine in the middle where the top is, and you will see a wire clipping in to something in the block, thats it, nothing more to it. damn easy!
