Default gearbox issues.

hi i have a 94 version1 sti, im having engine problems so have decided to go through whole car, i am changing the clutch and am not sure on what would be a good choice for me, im looking to run about 300bhp and would like something nice and capable of handling that without spending the earth. my next problem is and im not quite sure how to describe it, on my gearstick when i push it to the right it feels smooth and springs back to center but to the left its very slack and doesnt return, however you can get all gears and runs smooth in all gears. not sure what causes this. if someone could help me out id really appriciate it thank you

I would go for either a Exedy uprated clutch or call A.p.i and ask about one of their clutch kits which i believe are a better quality clutch.

its a spring that is attached to end of the selector shaft and to the under side of the car that makes it spring back from the left, had this problem on my car it was very irrtating.
i will see if i can find a pic.
