I'm finding that I get this quite alot. Trying to put the car in reverse seems to be a right pain and takes a lot of putting it into 4th first then into reverse. Sometimes it works fine but quite a lot of the time it doesn't. At first I thought it was just because it was a new car, but I've had the car nearly a year now and it still does it. It's a UK300 so not sure if anyone else with one of these has the same problem. Anyone got any suggestions.

 

Still under warranty?
Take it back, get them to fix it. The car should be bloody perfect.

 

Yeah I think I'll wait in till my year service, get it sorted then. So it's not the fact that it's new?

 

I recently had problems getting reverse on 32K 1999 WRX.
checked G-Box oil levels and it was on minimum. Quembys (who did 32K service which includes gbox oil) say that it is standard to have oil on minimum cos when it heats up it expands a lot. Sounded like a load of toss to me so I topped it up with a silicon based mix for manual gboxes - bought from Halfords £15.99 for 80ml of the stuff. Has been as smooth as silk every since - LOVELY !!!
