Default Clutch dropping

Hi again,

I have an impreza uk turbo 2000 my00,

When driving my impreza sometimes when I am driving and resting my foot on the clutch, the pedal drops around 2-3 inches? The clutch is not disengaged it just means I only have to push the clutch down only half the way than normal? I can put my foot back under the clutch pedal and it just pops back up to normal height.

Has anyone experienced this?

I had this once, replaced the slave and master but it still kept dropping, finally found that the pipe connecting the slave had a hairline split that was leaking when under pressure. Got gradually worse til I could no longer change gear/start. I think it was about £30 for the pipe (after spending nearly £200 on the slave and master cylinder!)
