So how are we going on solving the problem of boost spiking when decating the new STi?

- Has Dave T tried his restrictors?

- Has Pete from SS made any progress?

Stay tuned...

But seriously, has anyone made any progress on this? It sounds like Power Engineering have managed to get the correct restrictor size - could anyone from there let us know what it was?

Also wondered if the type of downpipe is a contributing factor. Surely if the problem occurs with the Scoobysport downpipe (open mouth), then it should be even worse with "split pipe" downpipe designs?

I hope that its not going to become one of those "commercial secrets" - I spoke to a company here in NZ that seem to have solved the problem by "modifying the actuator", but they won't give detail, seemingly treating it as a competitive advantage for them!

Anyone cracked it?

Looking forward to it...

My car is in to get the decat system (and boost gauge) fitted on the 9th.

Cheers,

Bret

Modifying the actuator is presumably just removing the heatshield, loosen the lock nut, remove the circlip and rotate the actator end to lengthen the rod to make it less peaky.

So if they do that, does it affect the boost level across the range or just the damping of the boost response?

Wouldn't like to think that I would be running *under* standard boost levels!

RT and others: has anyone tried this?

Nope, I've not heard of anyone trying that here...
