TOO MUCH OIL, IS THIS BAD ?
#1
When i bought my car the oil was above the high limit by a fair bit. The level was right up to the twist in the dipstick.
Is this bad ? Can it cause a loss in performance ?

Too much oil will cause very very bad things to happen. Don't forget your engine has a little bit of leeway built into it. Add like 2 extra litres of oil and you'll be blowing seals and all sorts of wonderful goodies.

It will also contaminate the wastegate solenoid and the car will not run properly. Drain the excess as soon as you can. If you put 4.5 litres in with a new filter it brings the level up to between the high and low marks. This is the best place for it to be.

Jus my 2p worth,
2 much can also cause foaming inside the engine which in effect is air bubbles. This causes parts running dry all be it for fractions of a second but how long does it take to destroy an engine
Yeah drain the excess oil out asap bud
