Default rear diff help!!!!

hey all just popped my nose under the rear of my car and noticed there was nasty oil all round the rear diff casing so got it up un the ramps washed it all off. i then checked all the bolts and most were loose and needed just nipping up
i then checked the level and the top plug is bone dry there is a little bit of oil on the bottom plug so i am going to change the diff oil does anyone know can i just use gearbox oil or do i have to use some special diff oil
and roughly what quantity do i need cheers.

You'll need around 1 liter (no more) of a good quality 75w/90 oil.

The top plug is the filler hole, and the bottom is the level hole, you fill the diff with oil until it just appears in the bottom hole then refit both plugs.
