Question

heard a Magnex system and was too quite.

Scooby sport - nice but not loud enough.

BPM twister (dp too i think) - nice and loud but a bit 'nasty' sounding.

best heard so far was a HKS Hiper back and mid section with a Scooby Sport downpipe, any better setups then this to get a nice loud burble scooby type sound?

cheers, peccy MY00 Turbo2000

I have a scoobysport 2.5" downpipe and a HKS Hiper centre and backbox on my WRX (MY95). You get a great burble from it, as well as pops and bangs on gearchange and deceleration.

nice one Ken,

this is the setup im thinking about getting,

is the scooby sport downpipe a twin dump or does is block of the waste gate at all?

heard the HKS 3inch bore is too big and reduces too much back pressure and mess's up the gas flows etc., is this just biast opinions, have you had any probs?

cheers, peccy.

Wink

I have got the scoobysport 3" DP and HKS Hiper centre and back on my P1. I think it is awesome

Loads more torque and power. Oh and you get the sound too if thats the type of thing your interested in

I don't know whether I would have had more torque with the 2.5" but the one I have got suits me fine

The scoobysport DP is not a twin dump but it does not block off the wastegate.

Cheers

Si

I have not had a single problem with this set up. I had no problems with the previous Super Drager either. Would recommend it to anyone.

I went for the 2.5" downpipe in the thinking it may give a bit more torque than the 3" but don't know whether or not there is a difference. I thought about getting a twin dump pipe but the general feedback I got at the time made me go for the Scoobysport.

Ditto. Got a HKS Hiper BB + centre section. Just bought a ScoobySport downpipe which is getting fitted tomorrow....can't wait!

I doubt there's much else reasonably priced on the market that could be better. Plus, there seems to be minimal hassle with fitting the HKS and ScoobySport pipes together.

...and after that if you *still* want to make it louder then you could get some HKS un-equal length headers as these sound fantastic and increase the volume quite a bit too.....

allow me to recommend the system i have, which can give upto 45bhp (est) on a non chipped WRX, and has proven 37bhp on my my 97 (with 100k miles ) Oscar exhausts, of sheffield, they will build it on the car, it's a turbo - back 3" system, with a lovely jap looking (clean welds) 5" can on the back end. It gives a really deep grumbling sound when idling, and sounds like a herd of banshees being let loose when flooring things!! very satisfying bangy poppy noises going thru gears which i assume is unburnt fuel hitting hot exhausts. The odd flame or too is possible, one guy in a cossie actually asked me if it had anti lag!!!! p.s. makes the turbo response much better and torque increases are mad.. thouroughly great stuff, (and only 550 quid for the whole turbo back system, fitted on the car!! )
