I'm trying to prove the ECU I have is definitely a PPP item to prospective buyers.
I think the answer is in the blue sticker on the yellow plastic, on my ECU it says "000" then "DV8" below.
Would any kind Ladies or Gents be prepared to tell me what their blue sticker says on their MY97/98 PPP?
Or what does the sticker on the ECU casing read?
(There should be a number like A18-000-DV8)
Tks to everyone who replied to my other thread, unfortunately the MY97/98 ECU is different from Pre 97 or 99/00 cars.
Many Thanks,John

Question

Do you not have the full PPP then? (because that comes with a certificate)

They would not give me a certificate when mine was fitted to a Euro import MY00 by a dealer, but I do have an invoice.

Hi Matt, no I bought the ECU on it's own second hand privately through the BBS.
I've lost the chaps name/contact details (doh).
C'mon you MY97/98 owners, someone must have a Prodrive ECU fitted
:-)

In that case, isn't there a Pink STi sticker on it? John?

Sorry all,no access to BBS from home.

Hi JKJ2, the ECU is located under a metal panel in the passenger footwell. There are a few 10mm nuts securing it.Once you have this off you can probably read the metallic blue sticker on the large yellow plastic wiring connector without removing the actual ECU cover.OR easier still-if anyone has a PPP ECU with the original casing could they tell me the numbers in the pink STI sticker -somewhere (hopefully!)there should be a number A18-000-DV8. PLEASE DO NOT DISCONNECT ANY WIRING OR REMOVE THE ECU COVER-the last thing I want is for someone to damage their car.

Matt,I didn't get the casing with the ECU-I believe the STI sticker is on the metal casing.

Many Thanks for your the replies,John

Hi Jen, yes I've dusted off my white socks & got my "Soul Boy"
fringe haircut(not really!).
Hopefully though should have my Prodrive OZ's & exhaust fitted
(pretentious,moi? ;-)
May bring a few friends if the wheels/tyres don't rub otherwise they can make their own way!
Will I see you there? Cheers,John

Jen,you'll have to tell me about Wigan Casino:-)
Re Soul,I was assuming what most old(ancient in my case)Essex boys were into --I was (still am) a biker hence Led Zeppelin,Deep Purple & all that head-banging stuff in my record collection.

Anyway--back to the thread :-)

Still after some numbers/codes from a MY97/98 Prodrive ECU if anyone has them-Cheers,John

Hi Toby, should be good on Saturday :-)
Jen,can't remember much by Wishbone Ash(senility strikes!) probably listened to lots of their stuff without realising.
Jimi Hendrix-- yes definitely got one of his albums.
(or big CDs as my godson calls them).
One of my favourite driving tapes, compiled by my brother, has stuff like The Doors,Joy Division,New Order,Patti Smith etc
Basically a snapshot of the late 70's/early 80's with a few classics on the side.

ANYWAY--Still after these codes/numbers if you have a MY97/98
Prodrive ECU please get in touch --Cheers, John

Oh Patti Smith yes pls,
W/Ash Warrior, 'I have to be a warrior, a slave I can not be, a soldier and a conqueror, fighting to be free...' remember it, 70s rock guitar, west coast type hippy stuff.

we'd better keep quite since probably no one else knows what we are talking about.

See ya Sat.

Jen,Toby, good to see you & the rest of the guys & gals Saturday.
Was it cold enough or what? Are you guys going to HH on Thursday?
I think the average age of the Cruisers
went up somewhat when we arrived (not because of you Toby of course!)Jen, talking of West Coast stuff let's not forget the Eagles.Right, adopt serious tone now:

If anyone has a MY 97/98 Prodrive ECU can they please get in touch?
If I can prove my ECU is a PPP item I can hopefully flog it & get a Link or better security for the Scoob.

Thanks Matt, pretty sure it is a PPP as the car has lost some urge now I've replaced it with the standard one, if I had a boost gauge it would be easier to check the difference.
C'mon, someone out there must have one & can tell me the serial numbers(pretty pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease:-)--John

Question

Why won't anyone email you their number? are to super top secret for some reason?

What price would you be looking for when you do sell it John?
Am I right in thinking it's just plug and play? i.e. whip out the old one and put the PPP ecu in it's place?

Matt
