Scoobysports Back box that really quite
#1
All,
Sideways has bought a Scoobysport BB and had it fitted to his RB5. Trouble is the car is really quite, not much louder than the standard one What that all about ?
I seem to remember that quieter ones were available, but he didn't ask for one!!! He bought it for the noise, and is really disappointed.
Has anyone else noticed this ?
Cheers Phill C
PS Is Scoobysports open on a Saturday ? No-one is answering the phone....

I like noise.

PS Might get the full system when I get bored.

Sideways, i fitted my ss downpipe and centre section today, and will fit the backbox tommorow.
The DP & CC made hell of a difference to the sound levels.
So if i want more sound m8 fit the DP & CC it'll make a big difference.

Some seem to be bloody loud and some just the same as a PPP/WRSport BB. They do seem to get louder with age and often are quieter when cold.
Is it an RB5 or RB5WR? If WR then changing the DP along with the new BB should help raise the noise level and if non-WR, changing the mid will raise the noise level a fair bit; If you really want noise after all this, new headers (e.g. HKS un-equal length) should do the trick

Matt,
He took a PPP backbox off and replaced it with the Scoobysport one He has a RB5 WR, but don't think he'll be going for the downpipe and mid section just yet. I even offered to loan mine to him FOC, but he declined. He'll probably wait until the warranty is finished.
Cheers Phill C
PS Lovely car though

Someone did say to me a while ago that it all depends on who is building the boxes at the time(whos putting in more sound deadening!!).
I had a SS back box on my STi and when i fitted the downpipe and centre section the rear box was well to loud!!!!!!!!!!!
Changed the box for another sorted the problem!!
Hence lots are louder than others!!!!!!!
Then sold the original.
