Question So which Clutch ?

I'm in need of a new clutch for my 93 classic, running around 310 bhp @ 1.3 bar boost but looking to move up to 350-360 bhp later this year.

I've been looking at the Exedy products and in particular the hyper single kit inc flywheel although am concerned over daily driving abilities traffic and parking.

So I'm looking for advice and experiences with the different clutches out there.

Many Thanks
Dave

I've had the exedy hyper.

Great clutch. Handled 330/330 easily but murder in traffic.

Couldnt parallel park with it either. You really have to rev the engine to make it slip.
Other than that, the clutch is basically like a switch. On or off. Mega thud with every gearchange.

Gearbox went shorly after.........I think this was down to the clutch.

I now go for a non paddle type. Even if it slips in 5th, I dont mind. Rather have that than all the pressure going to the gearbox. Each to their own though

Just get the uprated exedy(stage 1) organic clutch kit for 350bhp. which includes the uprated(40% increased clamp load) clutch cover and the organic friction plate. BTW it is the flywheel torque you need to worry about with clutch holding capacities and not bhp.

If you just want a clutch for racing, tracking and launching, then get a paddle clutch that will be mean and powerful. Will take over 450lbft of torque and will bite hard and never let go

I've just posted up a thread with exedy clutch torque capabilities in this forum.
