gear box rebuilds and internals ????
I am after some details on internal parts of different boxes and can parts beused in different boxes etc
I am in the middle of trying to rebuild my gear box which 3rd gear has been stripped. I have another box different code etc thats also stripped for bits but this one has what looks to be a pump in it inside the rear caseing. and pipes coming out the box and up to the front. is this for an oil cooler? ive never seen one fitted before. This box looks to have a different center diff is this why?
Plan is to make 1 good box from the 2. I am thinking that i will also need a rear diff to match the other gear set. I think i will need a 4.4 rear diff if any one has a spare one thanks andy

Its probably from a Forester then. All UK Foresters fitted with circulation pump to cooler in bottom of radiator.

Its not just as simple as removing a shaft from another box or a single gear from a shaft and fitting into your damaged gearbox. There are some quite small but subtle changes made between boxes with different codes i.e synchro's, idler gears, transfer gears, reverse idlers etc etc. some differences are so small that it is not obvious until the case is all bolted together. I had an issue with two 754 boxes which resulted in the selector not going into reverse and it was all down to a difference in the reverse idler diameter of mm's
