Kev, with due respect, if you have to ask that question the answer is no. It suggests that you don't know enough about how the thing works, its limitations as well as advantages, to install and adjust it to work well, and to work safely.

Before you think I'm talking down to you, I'm not. I am in exactly the same position. I love the sound of what the Dawes does, but I also know if you squeeze it too hard or don't monitor various engine parameters very carefully, you are in for a long walk home and a very expensive bill. John Banks makes this very clear in his excellent Dawes FAQ.

As they say, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. One day I think I've got it, then the next day I realise I havn't. In my view, from what I've read, the Dawes device is either for those who REALLY know, or for gamblers. Interestingly, and forgive me if I've got this completely wrong, the Flying Doctor is also working on a more sophisticated electronic boost controller. I bet he'll end up with a Link ECU (but probably one he made himself for a fraction of the cost).

A Link ECU, mapped by Bob Rawle. That's what I'm getting ... One day.

Cheers,

Richard.
