hi people i need help with a gearbox query,
i have a 95 wrx jdm imprezza turbo now my question is i have had both gearboxs in my car first was a subaru lagesy box code ty752vn1ba now i lost a few gears on it so fitted a wrx box the correct one out of the car code is
ty752vb3fa and that has just started to whine so my question is what is the stronger box would it be the legasy box or the wrx box as im about to get another one.3rd time lucky i would of thought the legasy box would of been stronger coming out of a twin turbo but no to sure so thought i would ask your opinion any help would be much appriciated kind regards ben

 

I was in the same boat as you mate - been though quite a few TY752 boxes. I solved the problem by buying at TY754 box and diff from a later car. These are quite a bit stronger over the earlyer TY752 jobs.

 

so which would be better to go for a ty754 box and diff or a sti gearbox and diff
