You can drive it as a normal gearbox, all the gears are in exactly the same place as a standard box. You can use the clutch as normal but it can be used without for changing gears although this will wear the dog teeth faster as there is more pressure on the components
You do have to be very precise and quite firm with the action of changing gear though. the last thing you need is to damage the dog teeth as you will soon find it slipping out of gear especially on overrun.
Make sure you have a good gear oil as well, are you running a plated front diff as well? which gearset do you have?

Be positive with it, no pussying around....
Bez has fitted one to his hawkeye (Scoobysprint) WRX, the altered gearing has made it very quick off the mark, and it makes some superb sound effects....
