Do I kill the Cat?
#1
Help once again. I have a blitz R spec from cat back. I would like to know if I should get rid of the cat and what should I go for? Then what do I do when the M.O.T is due or how can I get round it? How much do you think this will cost and where to get it done would help?

Removing downpipe cat - did this a few weeks back - allows the turbo to spin up earlier and gives good gains at the top end to.
Removing the centre cat - doing this next week - is supposed to give a similiar improvement as the downpipe but to a lesser extent.
Cars with just the centre cat may pass an MOT, as long as the exhaust is really hot.
For full de-cat cars at MOT time, either swop the OEM centre back in or, find a garage that will temporarily swop in a centre with sports cat, which should guarantee a MOT. I believe there is a well known Scooby specialist in Essex who offers this serivce
If you're really keen to pass MOT buy a sports cat centre yourself (GGR or Power Engineering), but we're talking £400+
Cheers
