HKS AFR regulator on Sport

I've got a lightly modified Sport, performance addons are SS backbox and RamAir filter.
Looking to get some more juice out of my Sport (without paying for a turbo mod...
).
Would I get any benefit from (e.g.) an HKS AFR regulator on my Sport?
Any other ideas? Paying through the roof on insurance to give me up to 20% bhp increase - would like to use it...
and if I did get the mix right, would I stop getting the nice pops and bangs off the SS?
