centre diff question

Default centre diff question

hi guys im tryin to find out as much as i can about centre diffs, i have heared that the actuall centre diff part not the housing is the same in all scoobs 99reg onwards is this true ,also does it get filled with oil when you change the gear box oil or is it a seperate housing that needs filling seperatley, any other info about how they work or how to change them would be much appreciated

A viscous centre diff has a silicon fluid in it which is sheared by metal plates when the speed of the F & R wheels is different. Silicon gets "thicker" as it's heated up so this "locks" the diff.

In very simple terms....
