All,
My MY98 ran out of manafacturers warranty in December last year, so I am now looking at having a bit of "play" with her. First things on my list are a decent exhaust (already lining up a Scoobysport system) and an induction kit.
Now I've read quite a few posts on here regarding the different induction kits available, and the dreaded MAF failure problems that can result. I've also noted that MAF failure is more common on the later cars, those that have the film sensor? My question is, is my car running this later-type more-fragile MAF, or the older wire version? If my car is on the "cross over" year, how do I tell?
Thanks in advance,
Karlos

Karlos,
you should have the early type MAF. If you know where the MAF is have a look at it. If it looks like a square black glass type of thing you have the early one. Sorry if the description aint the best, but that is the best I can do.
Cheers,
Wrexy.

Dizzy,
thanks for that.. spot on! Ahhh, <getting nostalgic> reminds me of my MY96 actually... I had a Blitz on that too, and never had any problems. Strange that people really slate them as well!
Thanks again guys,
Karlos
