Hello one and all,
I need some help if pos, I'm running a 93 WRX import
that's only done 33000 miles.
When accelerate hard it seems to judder and hold back
it's like a misfire or something but I've just had
it serviced, the Turbo is making the usual whistle etc
Any comments are much appreciated
Cheers

Yeah I would inspect the coils if I was you, is the problem worse under load? ie in 5th gear under power and at lover revs? if so it could well be your coils. Once you have them out pull the rubber boots off the end and check for cracks in the plastic coil material. Often if they are not put back in straight they will be damaged when the 12mm bolt is tightened up so take care when re-installing them

"judder and hold back"
Could be your clutch mate. Put it in forth gear at about 50mph, stick you lead boot to the floor and watch the revs, if the revs rise quicker than the car accelerates, your clutch is on its way out.
Expensive (had mine done yesterday )

If its just been serviced, then maybe they have over filled it with oil. Have you checked the level?.
This can contaminate the Waste gate solenoid and cause it to function incorrectly.
Cheers.

It could well be the coil, but it's probably worth checking the whole of the HT system, including HT leads & plugs. If an HT lead is breaking down under load or one of your spark plugs has a cracked ceramic etc then they could be earhting out, causing the misfire.
One easy way to check this is wait until dark, fire her up keeping the headlights off, and then rev the engine looking under the bonnet. If it looks like a fireworks display then there's a problem somewhere. If there's no light, all sorted, time to get the multimeter on the coil to check the resistance across the terminals.
