H6 Auto Tranny slamming into passing gear
Anyone had a problem with their 2003 outback H6 violently slamming into lower gear when passing or going uphill? My dealer aknowledges the problem but says he can't find a fix.
Any ideas or suggestions where to look for answers?
Thanks

North American based forums will be better placed to answer this, we're UK
Trans will kick down into a lower gear based on 'driver demand' (aka where you put the loud pedal), when you say 'slamming' do you mean its a very harsh shift?
Usual recommendation with 4EAT issues is to change the oil TWICE (about 1/4 stays behind, so you have to do it twice) as its very intolerant of degraded oil, if it comes out very black, it could well be a clutch burning out causing a problem.
