Exclamation drive shafts?

i started changing my uk box & diff, for a p1 box & diff.

know. i've fitted the diff, but one side seems to pop out (not locked in)
and the other, wont go in....

i know theres lock rings on the shafts, but they are stuck in the diff
do i need to fish these out?

or are the p1 drive shafts different to that on the uk 95 classics.
advice would be nice guys

i think you may get 99 00 type r rear shafts, there fatter, think they for r180 diff not 100% on the diff but very sure about shafts, even think a 00 sti 4dr classic wont do ,it has to be type r i think

thanks

the shafts for this p1/sti 4-5 diff
from the looks of it.

just seem to have the same diamitor to both sides, and the lock rings look about the same too

the early uk, thay have one short. and one long going narrow to wards the middle of the shaft
(the ends that fix in the diff)

i've managed to find a set of shafts from a 99 classic, and they look to be the same, or look like they would fit.

the rear diff i beleave are on alot of the imprezas. and is a 4.44
there should be a section just for persons who take this sort of thing on. telling of parts needed and issues they may find

i'll keep you imformed if the shafts fit
