Unhappy help with quick shift

hi
i fitted a quick shift to my 2005 wrx wagon last night but it does not feel right to me its very tight clunkie stiff feels like it has pressure pushing it when in 1 3 5 gear but ok when in 2 4 backwards gear is wee bit harder to get in to than normal

just looking to see if this is meant to be and has anyone else fitted one and its like this

thanks

I did one on a 6 speed where the sleeve going through the pivot point bushes on the gearstick was tight. I put it in a drill chuck and set about it with file/grindstone etc until it was slimmed down a bit and free in the bushes. Hard to tell if that is your problem. Shortshifters tend to have a tight clunky feel but shouldn't be stiff, took me ages to get used to mine.
