Hi,

I am interested in pushing the power of my MY99 PPP RB5 up (see the other post in General) and thoughts have kinda turned toward an ECU.

I sent an E-Mail to APS in Australia and they highly recommend the Unichip piggyback stuff as it makes a big difference and retains the cars driveability and startup characteristics (something I would be concerned about if I opted for a Link). Has anyone had any experience with these?

The other option, I guess, is to go for something like a Motec ECU. Has anyone got one or played with one? I know they are supposed to be very good but the car must still be an every-day car.

The third and final option (and one that I am seriously tempted to do) is to retain the Prodrive ECU and get Apexi Fuel and Boost controllers combined with an uprated fuel pump and APS Cool Air induction kit. The only question I have regarding this setup is will the Prodrive kit work well in conjunction with the Apexi stuff?

Any thoughts or suggestions?
ta,
Matt

Matt, yes the Motec is an option, but I can recommend going for a Link.

It comes down at the end of the day to how much you want to spend, and how far you are going to go with tuning.

Link sohuld cost just under double what a link will cost, and the difference for basic tuning will not matter.

Speak to BRD.
