Problems with T75 Downpipe

A friend has just fitted one of these on a MY99 and has the following problem...on quarter steering lock...the wastegate pipe foils the steering rack(bolt)...

Can someone please advise.....

I had some rattles from the heatshield after fitting the T75 downpipe so I modified it (the heatshield) with a hacksaw and since then - no problems.
