Hi & welcome to Scoobynet!

first off, would you mind dropping the "txt-spk" - thanks

1 - You could get a replacement box from Ebay, although there is a risk involved there. alternatively you could talk to someone like APi who can either rebuild your box or replace it.

2 - Again, get it rebuilt, there are many reputable specialists that advertise on here, get a few quotes over the phone. Presonally I'd budget atleast £1000 - £1500 for a rebuild, although the final cost could be considerably less depending on the damage.

3 - Straight cut or Helical cut gears - I take it you mean a PPG gearset? They are big bucks - I was quoted £2.5k for a 5 speed fitted, but prices have probably gone up since.

If it were me, I'd get the box you've got rebuilt. They are strong boxes & I don't see the need for the PPG gear sets unless you are running a lot of torque.

All in my humble opinion of course

the guys at revolution think its only the centre diff but they are unsure wat other damages this may have done to the gearbox (it is making a clunking sound), they said they can take it apart and see but this will cost alot in labour!

bring it to Poland repair of the gearbox costs here ca gbp 200 without parts

here you hv ctc to David from API

ScoobyNet - View Profile: APIDavid

this what you can do to gearbox is cut the gearteeth - open oil nut at the gearbox bottom and if there are teeth sticked to it than you can see

are the gears working smoothly or not ?

haha poland for £200, thats just rubbing it in now! a havnt driven it lately as the cars being kept at revolution, when i last drove it i couldnt seem to pick any faults but the workshop manager at rev told me the centre diff has gone n i said can we not just replace the centre diff n he sed that there may be other damages caused by the diff (also the cost of labour wud be a lot for the time it would take them), he also sed 3rd gear didnt seem to grand either!

cheers for that link av sent im a email!

al try and get down and see bout that nut at the bottom, but to be honest they have just had the gearbox and diff out as they have just put an uprated clutch in! so they may be able 2 already tell me!
