Hi,
I've read just further down in another post that I may have problems trying to use a WRX V5 ECU with my MY98 engine.
Can anyone tell me why and what would happen etc.
I don't want to start shouting at the vendor before I know the facts.
Thanks

If the engine was from a my99/00 then there'd be the swapped sensor pins which will stop the car from firing.
I guess this a safety feature to stop people easily swapping ecu's without considering the different turbo, cams, injectors and pistons.
Given that your engine is a my98, the above may apply more or less to you.

Have just spoken to Midland Impreza (who I bought the engine and ECU from) and was told that everything should connect up and start first time.
If not they'll sort me out with something which will.
Fingers crossed... I'm not dissing anyone here... but I've got to go with what I've been told by MI...
If there's any more info, please tell me
