how do i get old one off ?
did'nt want to be too rough

just recently changed mine on MY95, on mine the original just unscrewed from the gearstick sorry cant help any further

 

Hi there,

Just changed the gearknob on my MY01, and the gearknob does indeed unscrew, but it required a pretty hefty heave to get it moving. The white plastic collar should hold up the gaiter, so depending upon what your new **** looks like (ooer) you may have to find some other method of attaching the gaiter (or go for the plain metal look!)
