6Speed clutch kit on a 5spd ??
Is it possible to run the STi 6 speed clutch on a 5spd tranny?
Are the flywheel the same? i know the 6 speed flywheel is a bit bigger than the 5 spd if i am not mistaken?

Can be done yes although you will have to rout a little from your bellhousing where the flywheel catches. Dry fit and turn engine over to mark the housing where it fouls, and you will need a 6 speed starter.

It can be done, but if you are using the original style Subaru 6 speed clutch you'll need the original 6 speed flywheel as well. In fact the AP racing 240 mm clutch [ 6 spd type ] also needs a castellated flywheel.
This is because the clutch fits down 'inside ' the flywheel which has a number of little 'castles' around the edge. Strange thing that is next to impossible to lighten any amount worth doing.

thanks guys for the great info! i would like to try the 6 spd clutch kit on my 5 speed coz i found them quite reliable even if power of the GDB has been up. I dont normally race only a occasional fun runs that why i am looking towards the 6 speed since its quite good for everyday drivings

Curious that, we have supplied and / or fitted about 50 x 6 speeders over the last 3 years and about half of them seem to work ok on the original starter.
In any case a small amount of fettling gets the 5 speed one to work on the 6 speed most times. in our experience.
Perhaps it is because most of ours are JDM ones which are not the same as UK ones just in the starter area.

I had to trim my RA V2 starter motor slightly in order to fit properly on the 6 speed box, is it because earlier V1 & V2 starter motors are slightly bigger than later models .
