hi had a look at my dipstick for the gear box oil today.
it was like a creamy sludge!!.
ive never noticed and problems with my gearbox so far,

what is the sludge??? is it normal??

please someone help as im parking it up until someone can give me sum insite in to this.

 

been cleaning your engine and water has gotten down the dipstick hole?

 

Sludge is certainly not normal in a gearbox! Even modern engines will not display sludge unless there is something wrong.
Certainly do an oil change on the box!

changed mine after 50 odd thousand miles and it was as clean as the new stuff i was putting in.

 

Go through any floodwater at any point in history since the oil was last changed?


If you haven't changed it since you bought it, maybe its been in a lake somewhere!

It wouldn't be the first time that has happened to an Impreza
