Default Which clutch? how much and where?

Probably been asked a million time so sorry! I drive a my 99 type r and my clutch is on its way out. Its running 319bhp and 325ftlbs but wouldnt mind bumping this nearer to 400bhp so need a clutch to cope with this.

Cheers guys

We sell some that would be ideal for that projected power output + more.

Can also do you a great deal on a lightweight flywheel and clutch package.

PM for further info.

Go for the flywheel aswell, got the 4.2kg 1, makes no end of difference to the way the car revs, alot more responsive, how long will my clutch last tho?? , i have a heavy right foot and a light left foot

Thanks for the feedback on the flywheel Pete.

The uprated Exedy clutches are a bit juddery at first and can take quite a few miles to bed in.

Nope!,, Ours come direct from APi Japan and as I keep saying; are not the same as the UK ones sold on the internet.

Exedy in Cheshire have never dealt with API in any shape or form.

Unless you are just saying Exedy is Exedy no matter what. In any case mine don't judder, but that may be just luck ??

So are you saying UK sourced Exedy clutches judder and Jap sourced ones simply don't?

Ours aren't UK sourced either

I was aware that there are Exedy badged clutches that are sold on the interweb but I'm sure Bob wouldn't supply them...how come nobody takes Exedy to task if there is a difference in quality\specification?

Most judder is created by

1/ Dodgy flywheels that have heat cracks or heat blisters on the face.

OR

2/ By people not able to get the box onto the spline first time when re-installing and bending the friction disc out of true as they wiggle 75 kilos of box around, hanging on the disc.

3/ oil contamination.

If someone has a problem with my version of the Exedy clutch, then they need to talk to me, as Exedy in the Uk will not honour a warranty on something they haven't sold.

Can't think why

very strange...has anyone ever approached the UK Exedy to ask why? Presumably they are the same company...just asking because surely if they were available in the UK not just japan they would get cheaper
