my04 sti clutch
i have had my sti for about 4 wks now never having a car like this b4 i have found it fantastic however i am having problems with what i think could be the clutch ..
it started with high rev sound on turbo kick in but no clear rev counter movement it was like this on and off for a wk . today in 4th put foot down same rev sound but this time counter whent round to 8k at which point i took foot off. if this is clutch can u please recomend a good replacement.
the car has 244.4bhp at the wheels/305bhp at flywheel and 228.8 lbs pft i thought this was bit low torque wise could this be coz of clutch..had car on rollers at xo gateshead

Hi,
Welcome onboard
You'll know when the clutch is slipping as the engine revs will go up faster than the road speed (more noticeable in high gears).
If the car is more or less standard, fit a standard spec clutch (eg Exedy OE spec).
It's a worthwhile upgrade to change the flywheel to a lightweight forged one while your doing a clutch change - makes the engine revvier and more responsive.
