Default fitting cambelt

Started doing this today,everytime i get all pulleys lined up i lock the right hand side pulleys with mole grips to try and stop them turning,when i have belt on left hand pulleys they seem to keep turning toas im puttin belt on,managed to get belt on left hand side and the right hand side turns!!its a nightmare,finally got belt on but the marks were all out to about half a tooth to a tooth so ive pulled it off again...any hint or tips please....and were to start putting the belt on..thanks

I did it the other night and had exactly the same problems!

You need 2 of you tbh.

I also had the same problem with the marks, can anyone answer if they are meant to line up exactly or not?

And mine, the marks did not line up to the mm but they where very close, runs spot on now though!
