After having driven around for the last three weeks without a rear silencer, I suppose I'd better bite the bullet and actually buy one.

Thing is after the gorgeous sound a bare pipe produces (the pipe 'became disconnected' about 6 inches down from where it enters the silencer, and was totally free from the silencer ), there's no way I can go back to having an original back box.

Cos it was pointing upwards slightly it was very very boomy and cos of no silencer whatsoever it's basically very very loud and lovely, pops, burbles, closest thing to a V8 short of a V8.

Anyway, I need a BB now.....so is it SS, Magnex, Power Eng, Powerflow, etc.

I guess my criteria are:

1-gorgeously loud burble at low rpm

2-no boominess or little enough to not induces pain or tiredness on 2hours + journeys at 70-90mph speeds

3-more power, more torque across the entire range

4-nice looks / fit and finish but doesn't have to be polished chrome

5-under £300 !

I dunno, is SS too loud I wonder? Or is it just loud at under 3000rpm?

Hope you can help !

Cheers,
Spence

www.tsl-motorsport.co.uk do a work of art and not too noisey either.. but best thing you can do is listen to other peoples to see what you like.

cheers Alex, yeh that's the thing innit getting the balance right between not hearable and headache inducing ! I can't imagine any legal back box being as loud as my currently non-silenced exhaust though ! Sounds very nice.

Were you on about the Group N or the Sport TSL exhaust ?

The TSL b/b is a fantastic bit of kit, around the price you want, sounds mint, looks tip top A great bunch of peeps as well
I think the tail pipe is 3.5/4" and the finish is better than some other top name exhausts. I'd have one, but the tail pipe is too small for my liking
