Default gear problems when cold?

i have a 99 uk turbo, when the vehicle is cold it has trouble selecting first and second gears, but once the engine is warmed up properly it is fine? i am thinking perhaps replacing the oil. would this help?

Yes, use castrol syntrax driveline. At £12 a litre, it's not cheap, but nothing will help the shift more.

Syntrax is 75w90 and is perfect for scooby boxes. Try halfords or ebay.

Yes the oil change will help.

Try bleeding and replacing the clutch fluid too.

I managed to get a much better response when selecting gears with newer clutch fluids, and not even a little bit of judder.

Good Luck
