Default Help with STI RA 95 gearbox

Hi been having an issue with my gearbox since ive had the car with oil dripping of the gearbox cross member. Had various places mentioned where it could be leaking and had a loan of a ramp so decided to clean it and see exactly where it was leaking from. It looks like its coming from a cover plate on the gearbox where the exhaust down pipe support bracket bolts to. Does anyone know what this cover does i.e. could it be undone and a new gasket fitted without disturbing anything? Where could I get a new gasket from, or will I have to make one? Thanks for any help.

I think you can safely remove that cover (I think it covers the 5th speed cluster) and change the gasket in situ.

Best person to ask is David at API Welcome to the API website

No, but I still have my Sti!
Didn't bother selling it and it now sits all clean on SORN in the garage

Might break it yet...
