Default MY03 Gearbox and Rear diff oil

Hi

I've done some searches and become confusued.

I want to change the gearbox and rear diff oil in mu MY03 Sti PPP.

The general opinion seems to be that castrol syntrax 75-90 is fine for the gearbox.

But... There appears to be some discussion about using different oils for different rear diffs. Therefore, what sort of diff would be fitted at the back of my car and what type of oil would be best?

Thanks
Steve

The Syntrax would be fine in the rear diff. You could use a full synthetic fluid if you wish (Syntrax is semi-synthetic)
Don't forget that you have TWO drain plugs on the 6spd gearbox!

what is the idea of 2 drain plugs and would i be rite in saying that 1 of them is a big nut that faces straight down and is in the centre of the front driveshafts, then the other is a smaller nut maybe a 14mm and faces forward attached to a small kind of sump, was under my car today and wasnt sure which was the drain plug,so if i just undo both then refill through dipstik hole is that the correct way to do it.
