Thinking about putting a short shift on my 02 WRX,but thinking about it,could i not put the gear linkage from an 02STI on instead?

I have a short shifter on my one buddy.. its very short and i also cut it down by about 3 quarters on an inch as well.. and the throw is mental.. changing gears within split seconds :L :L

 

i thinkthe sti has a different linkage because of the 6 speed box

 

I was looking are one of these, are they any good?

 

The 02 STI part from Subaru is £300 + vat GASP !

Miltek list one at £181 + VAT for an STI, would think a WRX item will be less as they will sell more of them.

I have gfb short shifter from Demon Tweeks, its very good, 3 setting on gate to gate time and a million or more on personal preferance on each of these.On shortest throw 40 percent as aposed to prodrive 10 percent. Looked at loads before getting this one , only things is, when you start to fit any quick shift you can see the 4 bolts already stuck up around the stick for the prodrive kit though.The shift is nice and "SNICKETY and short"...+ its only ever going to make the car FEEL sportier not realy any quicker, like side burns and short shorts in the seventies...
