Really depends of your torque rather than bhp.

an Sti V5/6/box will tolerate 340 lbft comfortably, 380 lbft may be risky.

thanks mate im not sure what torque im going to be running but i have been told my 96 ra boxt wont handle the power.

iv been told either 6 speed for around £1500
or ppg for £3000

just wounderd if it could be done for less. im not trying to be a cheepscate but trying to get a sertain horse power at a sertain price. this is the reson i started this project.

so far im not doing to bad just hope it doesnt all go bang when im done otherwise im going to look a bit silly...

thanks richard

Once you get to the 380 lbft then you only have 3 choices:
1
Wait and hope the particular box you have is a very good one/drive carefully
2
6 speed box. About £1800 for the 'kit' (you need more than just the box) and add fitting it.
3
PPG at £3000

For a road car I would go 6 Speeder. You will have £1000 for the suspension then.

Many have found them unbreakable!
It is a very sensible option, but they do add about 35Kg to the cars weight, but against the total car weight it is a small increase.
