Default Noisy front diff.

I recently changed the gear box oil in my 1997 WRX Sti Type R. The oil I used is Silkolene Silktran Syn 5 75W90 fully synthetic. All was fine until yesterday I adjusted the centre diff using the controller inside the car. On acceleration everything is fine. On lift off there is a terrible whirring noise coming from the diff. It happens in every gear and only on deceleration. If I wind the controller off on lift off the noise goes away. This did not happen before I changed the oil. Any ideas? Thanks.
