Default classic gear box

i have a chance in buying a 99 uk classic g/box that has a 1-4 straight cut ppg kit fitted.

my question is could i replace this for my p1 2000 classic g/box, i know it will fit literaly but what about ratios with 5th gear??...are they the same ??

thanks in advanced

matt

I think you would need the matching UK rear diff as when I changed to a STI 5 (same as P1 IIRC) box in MY99 UK car I needed the matching rear diff.

IIRC the UK runs a 3.9 and the P1 runs a 4.4 but I could be wrong.

Beat bet is to call David at API he will know.

I had to change rear diffs each time to match on my original 94 WRX many years ago when I had the normal box, a RA box and then the UK box. Therefore I believe you are right sir .

Exactly as Damo says, it won't fit unless the final drive ratio and drop gears are changed.
