Default Clutch help

Hi I'm mounting a 2005 UK WRX gearbox to a 93/94 JDM WRX engine.
Any recommendations on which clutch I will need.
Not worried about anything uprated, just what size year etc I should use

You be best advised to use the larger 230mm version of clutch which is from 1997 on I believe. The flywheels are all the same and take either clutch.

Just make sure that the gearbox you fit matches the rear diff of the car. You don't mention what the car is, but you cannot mix JDM transmissions with UK transmissions, either gearbox to diff or vice versa.

I haven't got a rear diff issue as there won't be one, nor a centre diff

Mines one of the cars within the https://www.scoobynet.com/projects-4...project-6.html thread.

What I am still trying to work out is how the fix the lower bolt/nut for the starter motor, as the later box seems to have a 10mm through hole, to bolt into a thread in the engine block which isn't there on an early engine. May thread the late box to take 12mm bolt, and just open out the starter motor hole

Two ways around that, both work.

Just fit one bolt. Not recommended by me, but it does actually work. It's what most ' homers ' do.

Drill it and helicoil it.

AND actually, a 3rd choice that I have seen - drill it right through and nut and bolt it. which can be a sort of 'homer' way as it doesn't require the specialist gear of the helicoil.

Thanks for the advice David,

You wouldn't happen to know the gear ratios for a 2005 box, the label is showing TR -TY754VN6AA. Found it for TY752VN6AA, which seems to be an older UK spec box, assuming the ratios may be the same except 754 means it's the newer casing

Eaxctly the same ratios; just the later case on the 754 and stronger wider gears and bearings.
