driveshaft problem

driveshaft problem
HI everybody
my cars a my94 2000 uk turbo and i,m hoping to replace my o/s front driveshaft , i need to know before i do this , can i reuse the hub nut and also is the pin at the gearbox end useable again and also , when i take driveshaft off will i lose gearbox oil , if so what oil do i put back in and wear should i fill it from, thanks in advance for any help, doc

The nut can be re-used.
Likewise the pin.
No oil will come out of the box when you pull the shaft.
You MIGHT have to undo the lower ball joint on the side you are removing to allow the hub to be pulled to one side to get the shaft out, or you might be lucky.
This means you will need a new split pin.
Simple job to do though the box/shaft pin can be a bugga to drift out (rusted)
There is a big chamfer on one side of the CV and this is the side you drift the pin back in; don't try the other side!
