Question

I'm just about to start making some minor mod's to a 97 UK turbo and I'm looking for advice and opinions as to which air filter/panel I should install. I've got an SS back box the rest is standard.

Cheers boy & girls

Happy Christmas

Leigh

I use to run a K&N 57i in my old MY97 car. The throttle was a little more lively and the noise is fantastic!!

i'm running a K&N element in my MY99 uk turbo, personally i couldn't tell any differance. But when your pulling 230bhp+ an extra 4/5 bhp will be hard to feel.

Kevin

p.s.
check out the previous threads in this section, theres been loads of opinions regarding air filters.

Thumbs up

I changed mine to a K&N 57i kit- it sharpened the throttle response & you should be able to hear the dump valve as well!

Apparently it is common practice in Japan to discard the air filter/MAF /Air inlet pipe and to fashion a crude "filter " over the inlet port of the turbo.
The filter being nothing more than a fine wire mesh .
The gains in air flow would be extraordinary!
Anybody game to give it a go ?
