The button next to the handbrake, which has a snowflake icon on it, is the Snow Hold Mode Switch. This was intended to be used to prevent the liklihood of wheelspin during Japan's severe winters. It can be engaged in any gear but it only operates in 2, 3 & D. The lower button on the gear shift lever is the overdrive switch.
